The questions we hear most often about STAMPY.
Planning
How do we set the completion rule?
Completion means filling every active point in the event. There is no minimum count and no required order. Participants who complete it receive a certificate that outlives the event, and its number can be checked on site when you hand out prizes.
Can we run this at a permanent venue?
Yes. A permanent stamp tour is treated as one shape of an event. It still has a start, an end, and a set of points. Set a long date range and place the points.
Can each event have its own look?
Yes. Each event sets its own theme, colours and stamp, and those take over the visitor's screen.
How do we hand out prizes?
Participants who complete the tour keep a certificate, and each certificate carries a number. Check that number on site and hand the prize over. How you hand it out is entirely up to you.
Can we add or remove points while the event is running?
Yes. But completion means filling every active point, so adding one can send a participant who had completed the tour back to incomplete. Stamps already earned at a point you deactivate stay where they are.
How it works
Do visitors have to install the app?
No. By default visitors finish on the web with nothing installed. Scanning the QR code on site, or holding a phone near the NFC tag, takes them straight into the browser. The app is optional and adds conveniences that are hard to deliver on the web. The one exception is a point where the partner chose NFC+, which needs the app.
Can one event mix QR codes and NFC tags?
Yes. How a visit is proven is decided per point, so you can put a QR code at the entrance and NFC tags deeper inside.
Do the QR codes on site need replacing later?
No. The QR codes and NFC tags you install on site carry permanent addresses that never need replacing. They work at the next event too, so nothing has to be reprinted.
What happens if someone scans the same point twice?
A point's stamp is earned once per participant. Coming back only shows a note saying it is already collected.
What happens to collected stamps if a visitor changes phones?
Link Apple, Google, Kakao or LINE in the app and the stamps follow you to a new phone or a fresh install. Linking is app-only: participation on the web, or in the app without linking, stays on that device, and changing phone or browser starts a new participation.
Cost and duration
What does it cost?
STAMPY charges once per event. Pick a plan by the number of points and the duration, then add only the verification methods and perks you need. It starts at ₩800,000 before VAT. The four plans and the option prices are on the pricing page, and if you tell us the event or venue, the dates and the number of points, we will send a quote.
Security and fraud
Can someone earn a stamp without coming to the site?
A stamp is only earned by verifying a visit through the QR code or NFC tag installed on site. For points where a forwarded address must not work, use NFC+ or staff confirmation, which cannot be cloned or passed on, or a screen QR that changes every minute if visitors should not need the app. Whether a verification is valid, and whether to grant the stamp, is decided by the service, not by the visitor's device.
Can an NFC tag be cloned?
Tags at points that demand proof must resist both cloning and tampering with the verification data. For points where even reading the address off the tag with another app must be blocked, use NFC+. An NFC+ card carries no address, so nothing happens outside our app.
Does anything stop one person taking part several times?
Not with anonymous participation. An event's credibility does not come from knowing who the visitor is; it comes from the fact that you cannot verify a visit without being there. Creating more participants does not add stamps unless someone goes to the points.
Do you collect visitors' personal data?
Participation is anonymous. We ask for no name and no contact details, and there is no sign-up step between arriving and starting. In the app, visitors can link Apple, Google, Kakao or LINE so their stamps follow them to a new phone. Even then, all we receive from the provider is a single identifier.
Support
How are participants counted?
A participant is someone who earned at least one stamp. People who tried but did not finish are not participants. They are counted as in progress at that point. A point that collects only in-progress attempts and no stamps is a signal that a tag has broken, staff have stepped away, or the rule is too demanding.
What do on-site staff do?
At points that use staff confirmation, they scan the confirmation QR on the visitor's screen. Staff work inside staff mode in the visitor app, and because they scan with the camera, they do need the app installed.
What happens if an NFC card on site breaks?
A single point can carry several methods. Pair it with staff confirmation and the point keeps working when the card fails, without loosening the requirement to actually be there. If a point collects only in-progress attempts and no stamps, that is the signal something has broken. Watch the per-point in-progress count in the console.
